Ingredients

Scale

For the Quiche Filling:

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese (or Gruyère for a more refined taste)
  • 8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions (optional)

For the Crust:

  • 1 pre-made pie crust (or homemade if preferred)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Prepare the Pie Crust:
    • If using a store-bought crust, fit it into a 9-inch pie dish and lightly prick the bottom with a fork. If desired, pre-bake the crust for 5–7 minutes to help avoid sogginess.
  • Cook the Bacon:
    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces.
  • Make the Quiche Filling:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth. Stir in the shredded cheddar and Swiss cheeses, crumbled bacon, and green onions (if using).
  • Assemble the Quiche:
    • Pour the quiche filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake the Quiche:
    • Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown. A knife inserted into the center should come out clean.
  • Cool and Serve:
    • Let the quiche cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving. It can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Crust Options: You can use a homemade pie crust or opt for a pre-made crust for convenience.
  • Make Ahead: You can assemble the quiche ahead of time and refrigerate it before baking. Simply add a few extra minutes to the bake time if starting from cold.
  • Storage: Leftover quiche can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 10-15 minutes.
  • Variations: Add sautéed spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers for a veggie-packed version. Swap the bacon for sausage for a different flavor profile.
