Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 10g instant dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 200ml warm milk
  • 50g unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 100g mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 50g parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Extra melted butter for brushing

Instructions

  • Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Add warm milk, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until a soft dough forms. Knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Let the dough rise: Cover the dough and place it in a warm spot to rise for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  • Prepare the filling: In a small bowl, combine garlic, olive oil, mozzarella, parmesan, parsley, oregano, and thyme. Set aside.
  • Shape the bread wreath: Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball. Using a round baking pan (or pizza stone), arrange the dough balls in a circle, leaving a small gap between them.
  • Stuff the dough balls: Make a small indentation in the center of each dough ball and spoon in the garlic-herb mixture. Press the dough around the filling to seal.
  • Second rise: Cover the wreath and let it rise for an additional 30-45 minutes.
  • Egg wash: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Brush the wreath with a beaten egg to give it a golden, glossy finish.
  • Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling. Brush with extra melted butter after baking for added flavor.
  • Serve: Allow to cool slightly before serving, then enjoy the pull-apart goodness!

Notes

  • Customize the filling: Feel free to add your favorite ingredients like spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, or bacon bits for extra flavor.
  • Storing: Store leftover pull-apart bread in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
  • Tip: If the bread starts to brown too quickly, cover it with foil during the last 10 minutes of baking.
