- 1 box (15.25 oz) white cake mix
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 (21 oz) can strawberry pie filling
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs (optional, for added cheesecake flavor)
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
- Prepare the Cheesecake Layer:
- In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Add the milk and continue beating until fully combined.
- Assemble the Dump Cake:
- Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Spoon the cheesecake mixture over the strawberry filling, spreading it evenly.
- Add the Cake Topping:
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the cheesecake layer. Do not stir.
- Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top of the cake mix. If using, sprinkle the graham cracker crumbs over the butter for a cheesecake crust flavor.
- Bake the Cake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. A toothpick inserted into the cake part should come out clean.
- Cool and Serve:
- Let the dump cake cool for about 10–15 minutes before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can substitute the white cake mix with a butter or yellow cake mix.
- You can also add fresh or frozen strawberries on top of the pie filling for an extra burst of flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave for 20–30 seconds.
